Lisa Velasco is the Senior Director of Professional Services at The Hardenbergh Group. She brings 31 years of leadership experience in hospitals and managed care organizations, specializing in accreditation and regulatory standards, knowledge of healthcare law, credentialing and privileging, provider enrollment, professional practice evaluation and peer review, administration, operational assessments and project management, continuous quality improvement and survey readiness, credentialing software implementation and optimization for a paperless environment, start-up operations, change management, acquisitions and mergers, graduate medical education, continuing medical education, physician relations, recruitment, and practitioner wellness. Lisa is a consultant, thought leader, having co-authored articles, and spoken frequently on various topics.
In her current position, Lisa leverages her vast professional experience to identify and place experienced, qualified MSPs to help clients fill temporary vacancies, assess and improve operational efficiency, and prepare for upcoming regulatory surveys and audits.
Prior to joining Hardenbergh, Lisa was the Director of NCH Healthcare System Medical Staff Office & CVO. She has been recognized for Best Practices by The Joint Commission and received the Quality award for reducing the turn-around time for processing applications and improving efficiency in a virtual environment. Previously, she managed Medical Staff Services and GME for West Kendall Baptist Hospital, first hospital built from the ground up in 35 years in Miami. In 2011, Lisa was recognized by The Joint Commission for best practice implementing disaster privileges. Prior to Baptist Health, she was the Director of the Corporate Credentialing Office for Jackson Health System developing a systemwide Credentialing, privileging, provider enrollment, and peer review process in collaboration with the University of Miami. Lisa completed the NAMSS Leadership Certificate Program, served on the NAMSS Certification & Ethics Committee, and received the Mentor Award by FAMSS. Her passion is fostering an environment of continuous learning, professional development, and networking amongst her peers.
