Jami Pinkert, MHA, CPMSM, CPCS, Sr. Director, Provider Experience & Medical Staff Operations, Novant Health, Inc. is on a mission to bring innovative processes to improve the provider experience and grow strong teams of professionals to partner in this work. Trained in business and health management, she has a unique 30-year background in information technology, project management, operations, and hospitality services. She excels in diplomacy and relationship building, capitalizing on her outgoing nature to create strong networks.
Jami joined Novant Health in 2015, spending a year in the Central Verification Office before being offered the Director of Medical Affairs position at NH Forsyth Medical Center. Her role expanded in 2020, when she became the Director of System Medical Staff Operations, leading a team of 25 MSPs to support 13 acute care facilities, 4 ambulatory surgery centers, 2 endoscopy centers, and hundreds of outpatient clinics in their medical credentialing needs. Under her leadership, the team completed a 6-month project for physician system privilege criteria standardization with over 400 individual forms updated and standardized. Other notable accomplishments include implementation of a late-career practitioner process, the establishment of tiered reporting of adverse information, and departmental reorganization to include career ladder opportunities for the team. In 2021, Jami was named Sr. Director, Provider Experience & Medical Staff Operations, further expanding her role to include end-to-end provider experience work.
Jami has her undergraduate degree in health management and a Master of Health Administration. She holds dual NAMSS certifications and is a long-time active member of both NAMSS and NCAMSS. She is the Programs committee chair-elect for the Triad chapter of the American College of Healthcare Executives and a board member for The Shepherd's Center of Winston-Salem, a faith-based vital living program for those over 50. Jami also co-chairs the Generation-to-Generation Business Resource Group.
