Jodi Smith is an accomplished Medical Staff Services professional with over 30 years of experience that began with a chance opportunity. Jodi was hired as an inexperienced medical staff coordinator for a small community hospital in South Carolina. Since then, she has advanced in her profession, learning and developing her leadership skills through the various positions she has held with both small and large healthcare organizations. Jodi also spent several years as an independent medical staff services consultant to assist hospitals with regulatory readiness, software implementation, and interim staffing.

Jodi was hired as the Director of the Beth Israel Lahey Health CVO, responsible for creation of a brand new department to align with the organization's overall strategic initiatives. This included workflow design, forming a top-notch departmental team, and the selection, purchase, and implementation of a sophisticated software package. The project began in January 2020 which currently consists of 4 hospitals and 1 provider enrollment group and is scheduled to add 5 additional hospitals and 4 additional enrollment groups in the fall of 2023. The CVO project has involved policy development, fostering culture change, and integration of disparate medical staff credentialing forms and processes into a unified CVO.

In her free time, Jodi enjoys traveling, warm days by the New England ocean, and most of all spending time with her two new grandsons.
