Assistant Vice President
Parallon/HCA
Katy, Texas
My name is Kendra Zepeda, CPCS, CPMSM and am the Assistant Vice President of the Parallon Texas Credentialing Processing Center. I have 20+ years of experience in medical staff services, hospital system credentialing operations, regulatory/accreditation compliance, and strategic planning.
I received my degree in Healthcare Administration and discovered credentialing through a residency at CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Health System in 2001. Like so many in the credentialing/medical staff profession, I started my career with no idea what credentialing even was, but fell in love with the profession and became a lifer. In 2007, I joined HCA Corporation of America (HCA) and now for Parallon, a wholly-owned subsidiary of HCA, as a project manager for their newly created credentialing processing centers with responsibility for rolling out centralized credentialing for 90 HCA facilities and consolidation of application processing for approximately 30,000 practitioners. I have held roles of Project Manager, Director, Client Support Manager, Reporting Manager, and now Assistant Vice President for the Texas CPC which has grown to serve 130+ HCA facilities.
I started volunteering with the South Texas Chapter of Medical Staff Professionals in 2003 serving as their President in 2007. I served on the Texas Society of Medical Services Specialists Board as the Newsletter Editor in 2006 and continued to serve on the Board until 2015 in the roles of Communications Director, Treasurer, and then President. I continue to assist TSMSS in managing the association in the role of Administrator. I received my CPCS certification in 2006, and CPMSM in 2018.
I'm most proud of my roles as wife and mom of four.
