Regina Plank, CPMSM, currently working as a Project Consultant at Parkland Health, has over 30 years of experience as a Medical Staff Professional (MSP). She began her career as a Medical Staff Secretary in 1989 and was immediately hooked! She received her CPMSM Certification through the National Association of Medical Staff Services (NAMSS) in 1995 which opened many doors and opportunities to expand her career and knowledge as an MSP. Over the course of her career, she has served in various roles -primarily in the acute care hospital setting – in several different states.
She was fortunate to meet wonderful mentors along her journey as an MSP – fellow MSPs, Hospital Administrators, and Physicians - who provided lots of education, support, and encouragement. Over time, her passion has only grown stronger and she developed a special interest in privileging and FPPE/OPPE. She’s always had a special interest in expanding her knowledge and understanding of Advanced Practice Providers, their roles, scope of practice and how it has evolved over time, and the laws/regulations surrounding their practice in various states.
She is currently a member of NAMSS, the Florida Association of Medical Staff Services (FAMSS), and the Texas Society Medical Staff Services (TSMSS). She was previously a member of the California Association Medical Staff Services (CAMSS) and served as a Board Member on the Greater Long Beach and San Fernando Valley/Ventura County Chapters of CAMSS
