Session Description: Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) must demonstrate compliance with applicable requirements, for implementing appropriate policies and procedures for credentialing and privileging, to the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). HRSA performs its oversight responsibilities via operational site visits (OSVs) and Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA) deeming applications. It is critical for FQHCs to understand all the elements required to achieve compliance. This session will provide (a) an overview of the fundamentals for developing effective credentialing, privileging, and ongoing performance evaluation processes, (b) explain the impact HRSA’s scope of project and quality improvement requirements have on credentialing, and (c) provide helpful tips to ensure credentialing compliance with HRSA’s OSV and FTCA deeming application requirements.
